Helping a customer adapt to leverage digital transformation

Many companies still have a long way to go with digital transformation. Despite digital technologies and methods of working being available at scale, many companies have yet to adopt them. Or to build a culture that embraces change, experimentation, and continuous improvement. Many companies are planning end-to-end transformations but have not yet taken the next step in implementing these plans.

In this article, we’ll share how we supported our customer with our Salesforce consulting services, IT strategy and Salesforce implementation strategy to get their digital transformation into gear and grow their business.

This story is told by our CEO and innovation architect, Marcin Tabedzki.

The challenge: Merging three Scandinavian media-production solutions providers

Our customer is Scandinavia’s largest professional equipment reseller and media systems integrator. Their selected reseller and sales partner for a wide range of high-profile companies and brands in the media industry.

We joined the project, when three of Scandinavia’s top providers of media-production solutions merged into one unified group. With over 30 years of history and references within the professional equipment market.

The Solution: Digital transformation through Salesforce implementation

When I opened the project in 2017 as Solutions and Innovation Architect the company was undergoing massive digital transformation in areas of Marketing, Sales and Operations to support the merger and create a new go-to-market strategy.

I was engaged as strategic trusted advisor to changes into lead capturing and processing, projects management, costs tracking, time capturing, opportunity management, custom build CPQ module, products and pricing catalog management, simple quotation generation based on templates, orders generation, contract management & SLA, invoicing and integrations (Visma ERP, Expensify, TSheet). Part of our strategy was deployment of ESB Azure for systems integration.

The 4 keys to digital transformation – getting the success factors right

To start, our team assessed where the company stood—and where it wanted to go. We looked at the company’s people, technology, and data. We then helped them tie their digital transformation strategy to business outcomes and goals. Below are the 4 key steps we took:

  1. 1:1 product offers for the customers via rigid product management and offering process.
  2. 360 degree customer view and streamlined operation workflows for the three merged companies, including CPQ.
  3. Engagement at scale with sales, marketing and service data.
  4. Salesforce gave Genus One the agility to move much quicker than our customer could previously.
